Infiniti InTouch is not one single feature. Depending on the model and year, it can include Bluetooth calling, audio streaming, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, remote services, Wi-Fi functions and the MyINFINITI app. A failure in one area does not automatically mean the entire InTouch unit has failed.
The fastest troubleshooting process begins by identifying the exact symptom. Is the phone unable to pair? Does music play but calls fail? Does Apple CarPlay disconnect? Is the MyINFINITI app unable to refresh vehicle status? Does the screen freeze or remain black? Answering that question prevents unnecessary resets and replacement parts.
Confirm the Vehicle, Phone and Feature
Write down the Infiniti model, model year, trim and phone model. Check the owner’s manual to confirm that the vehicle actually supports the desired feature. Older vehicles may support Bluetooth calls but not Bluetooth audio. Some models have wired Apple CarPlay, while newer vehicles may support wireless CarPlay. Android Auto may require a USB connection even when CarPlay is wireless.
Update the phone’s operating system and restart the phone before changing vehicle settings. If the problem began immediately after a phone update, check Infiniti and phone-manufacturer support information for known compatibility issues.
Bluetooth Will Not Pair
Delete old or unused phones from the vehicle and remove the Infiniti from the phone’s saved Bluetooth devices. Restart both systems, enable Bluetooth and begin a new pairing process while the vehicle is parked. Confirm that the number displayed on the phone matches the number displayed in the vehicle.
If pairing succeeds but contacts do not appear, review the phone’s permission settings. The phone may be connected while contact sharing, messages or call history remain blocked. Test with a second compatible phone to determine whether the issue follows the vehicle or the original phone.
Bluetooth Audio Plays but Calls Do Not Work
Phone and audio functions can use separate Bluetooth profiles. Open the paired-device settings and verify that both calling and media audio are enabled. Make a test call and check whether the vehicle or phone is selected as the audio output.
Low call volume can be caused by separate call-volume settings. Adjust the volume while a call is active rather than while music is playing. If the other person hears echo or poor sound, inspect microphone settings and disconnect other paired devices that may be competing for the connection.
Apple CarPlay or Android Auto Disconnects
For a wired connection, start with a certified, undamaged USB cable and use the correct data-capable USB port. A cable can charge the phone while failing to transfer data reliably. Clean lint from the phone connector carefully and avoid adapters during testing.
For wireless CarPlay, confirm that both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled. Delete the CarPlay vehicle from the iPhone’s settings and pair again. Wireless CarPlay may conflict with certain hotspot or VPN configurations. Temporarily disable those services to test. If the vehicle supports only wired CarPlay, a wireless connection will not appear without an approved update or adapter.
The InTouch Screen Is Frozen or Black
A frozen screen may be a temporary software problem, while a black screen can involve power, battery voltage, display hardware or a control module. Note whether one screen or all screens are affected and whether audio, cameras or climate controls still work.
Use only restart or reset procedures documented for the exact vehicle. Some resets erase saved phones, presets or user settings. If the screen repeatedly reboots, smells hot, displays smoke or behaves abnormally after liquid exposure, stop using the system and obtain professional service.
MyINFINITI App Will Not Update
App-based remote functions depend on an active account, supported vehicle hardware, cellular communication and an eligible subscription. Confirm that the vehicle is correctly added to the account, the subscription is active and the app is current. Sign out, close the app completely and sign in again.
Move the vehicle to an open area with cellular coverage and allow time for status data to refresh. A command can fail when the vehicle has a weak 12-volt battery, is in an unsupported state or has not communicated with the network. Do not repeatedly issue commands without checking the message shown in the app.
Connected Services and Subscription Changes
Some InTouch services require a paid plan after an included trial ends. A feature that previously worked may stop because a subscription expired rather than because the vehicle developed a fault. Review the account’s package and renewal status.
Cellular network changes can also affect older connected vehicles. Infiniti support can confirm whether the specific model year remains compatible and whether an update or hardware change is available. Bluetooth and locally connected CarPlay may continue working even if a separate remote service is no longer supported.
Battery Voltage Can Create Multiple Symptoms
Modern infotainment and connected systems depend on stable voltage. A weak 12-volt battery can cause slow startup, warning messages, failed remote commands and repeated reboots. If several unrelated electronic features fail together, test the battery and charging system before replacing the display.
Battery replacement may require resetting certain vehicle functions. Use the correct battery specification and follow model-specific procedures. Persistent charging-system problems require professional diagnosis.
When to Contact Infiniti Support or a Retailer
Contact support when account enrollment, subscriptions or app communication cannot be resolved through basic checks. Contact a retailer or qualified specialist when the display remains black, repeatedly reboots, loses camera functions or stores control-module faults.
Bring detailed information: the VIN, phone model, operating-system version, screenshots of app errors, dates and times of failed commands and a list of troubleshooting steps already completed. Clear information can shorten diagnosis and prevent repeated basic tests.
A Better Troubleshooting Order
Start with the simplest reversible steps: confirm compatibility, update and restart the phone, test another cable, remove old pairings and test a second phone. Then check account and subscription status. Only after those steps should the owner consider system resets, software service or hardware replacement.
InTouch problems are easier to solve when they are separated into phone, connection, subscription, power and hardware categories. Replacing parts before identifying the category is usually the most expensive troubleshooting method.
